Trip therapy: DMT ceremony

DMT ceremony

DMT stands for N,N-dimethyl-tryptamine and has a molecular structure related to the neurotransmitter serotonin. However, DMT cannot be taken orally because DMT is broken down directly by MAO enzymes. Now you can disable MAO with MAO inhibitors, but complications can arise since MAO enzymes have more functions in the body. Without using MAO you can use the variant 4-hydroxy-N,N-dimethyl-tryptamine to take. This is psilocin and is found in certain mushrooms and magic truffles.

If you want to know more about the difference, read this blog about ayahuasca, DMT and MAO inhibitors
