Trip therapy: Why psychedelics and tripping can be medicine

Classic psychedelics

Classical psychedelics often refer to natural mind-altering drugs. What all these drugs do to achieve its mind-expanding effect is always the same via a detour, namely increasing the stimulation of the serotonin receptors. In particular, the stimulation of the 5-HT2a receptor provides the mind-expanding effect by altering the conduction of stimuli in the brain. In particular, several areas in the brain, which usually do not communicate directly with each other, do start communicating. For example, at higher doses, the areas that usually process subconscious tasks may start communicating with your conscious brain, the frontal lobe. This can provide relief from psychological complaints.

Body's own psychedelics

A lot of people, especially those who know nothing about psychedelics, find psychedelics like magic mushrooms worthy of the negative word “drugs”. However, they do not know that alcohol is a much worse drug than magic mushrooms (mushrooms) and therefore often drink a glass of wine too much.

See also the image below or via this link the differences in harmfulness of psilocybin, alcohol and other drugs.

Another argument for the fact that you shouldn't call psychedelics drugs is that everyone hallucinates every night because the body initiates the same process during sleep that psychedelics do while awake. Dreams are the result of increased activity of the serotonin receptors and again in particular the 5-HT2a receptor. So everyone uses their own “drugs” during sleep. You can also use techniques that resemble the effect of dreams and psychedelics while awake. Meditation, hypnotherapy, breathing therapy and EMDR are examples. During those techniques, it seems to the body that you are going to sleep and dream, which causes the body to produce psychedelics (DMT and serotonin). The advantage of psychedelics, however, is that you can dose better, dose higher (up to 1000 times higher) and that the effect is longer.

DMT and serotonin

DMT and serotonin are therefore our body's own psychedelics. The mind-altering effects occur when the concentration of these substances is increased. Low concentrations actually cause cognitive decline, depression, anxiety, insomnia and other psychological complaints. The structure of the molecules of DMT and serotonin are similar so that they fit on the same receptors.

Psilocin from magic mushrooms and truffles

Our body converts psilocybin from magic mushrooms into psilocin and psilocin. Just like our body's own serotonin and DMT, psilocin can stimulate the 5HT receptors. This mainly concerns the 5-HT2a receptor and to a lesser extent the 5-HT2c and 5-HT1a receptors. The human brain also goes into a kind of “sleep mode” because of this. The connection between the subconscious brain and conscious brain is established and the higher the dose, the higher the more connection is established. This can lead to hallucinations, dreams while awake. An additional advantage is that in a dream state one has no needs. There is no need for nourishment, no need to achieve personal goals, and a state of contentment ensues.

State of contentment

From a state of satisfaction one can often be honest about what is really important. We can be real about perfection and imperfections. Uncertainty and certainty is something you can control yourself. Another additional advantage is that the subconscious brain with all its fixed patterns is open to insights and changes. This in combination with neurogenesis, which ensures new fixed brain connections, can really change people positively. All of this is possible with the power of something akin to a deep sleep.

We need to look beyond the old stigma

The magic mushrooms and magic truffles should be embraced by everyone as a gift from nature. So far so many people have benefited greatly from a magic mushroom treatment. All studies done on psilocybin are completed with a success rate higher than anything any pharmaceutical company can come up with. From our own experience we can say that the success rate of studies could be even higher if love for the body is also included in a process.

What we can offer

Do you also want to grow in life? Our services include more than just organizing a magic mushroom ceremony. We always take into account the objectives of our customers. For example, we have protocols that we adapt to the wishes of the customer. We have protocols for various problems such as:

  • Depression
  • Burnout
  • Anxieties (social, etc.)
  • Addictions (alcohol, coke, etc.)
  • Negative self image (BDD, anorexia, ect.)

Prior to the truffle ceremony, we make a plan to prepare someone physically for the trip through nutrition, supplements and exercise. The aim of this is to ensure that our customers see that taking good care of yourself is rewarded. This insight only really becomes clear during the trip because the trip then also works better because, for example, the receptors have been made more sensitive and because during that trip everything suddenly starts to “land”. During the preparation we sometimes give some assignments, the meaning of which only becomes clear during the trip.

What a trajectory in trip therapy looks like

We believe that a healthy body provides a healthy basis to be mentally healthy as well. We therefore do everything we can to address all facets of existence and that is why we also advise our customers on basic nutrition, exercise and supplements. The whole approach for body and mind ensures the best results in the short and long term. We usually use a schedule for most customers that looks like this:

  1. Report, neurotransmitter test and intake
  2. Advice on nutrition, exercise and supplements based on point 1
  3. Watch a 2-3 week progression from point 2
  4. An individual psychedelic ceremony (unless a group has additional utility or preference)
  5. Debriefing of the truffle ceremony on the same day
  6. After about 1-2 weeks another debriefing

Extras during ceremony

Our psychedelic therapy through one truffle ceremony includes the following extras to make the experience even better:

  • Individual guidance truffle ceremony
  • Aromatherapy (during trip)
  • Color therapy (during trip)
  • Musical support (adjusted as needed)

Possibilities of trip therapy

The biggest advantage of a trip therapy session is that through introspection (looking within yourself) we can send you light to change your self-image. Many addictions, fears, stress, depressions and other personal problems arise from a (negative) wrong self-image, from non-real thoughts or from subconscious stress, which arise from fears in the subconscious. If you allow yourself the best based on nutrition, thought and exercise, this will have a positive effect during and after the trip because these lifestyle changes are considered logical during the trip. Be good to your body and mind and they will be good to you. You are worth being the best version of yourself.
