Chronic inflammation

Chronic inflammation

Treating chronic inflammation largely prevents psychological complaints such as depression. We wrote before that some forms of depression are an inflammatory response from the body that reaches the brain. When inflammatory reactions take place in the body, the by-products of the inflammatory reactions will reach the brain and there they reduce the effect of serotonin (less stimulation of the 5-HT2a receptor). A reduced effect and content of serotonin causes depression, where serotonin usually provides satisfaction. In this way, the body tries to give the conscious brain a signal to withdraw from that environment or situation that is unhealthy for the individual. Social withdrawal is also a natural protection mechanism for the survival of the species in the event that depression arises from infectious disease.

Causes of inflammatory reactions

In the present time, we can trace most inflammatory reactions to poor nutrition (physical stress) and psychological stress. Those are the two main causes of inflammatory reactions. The image below shows even more factors that trigger stress and inflammatory reactions.

Why psychological stress is also physical stress

The moment you have anxious thoughts, the body will show a stress response. Through hormones, our brain will instruct the adrenal glands to produce cortisol, among other things. Cortisol is delivered through the blood and lymphatic system to every cell in our body. These cells then enter a state of readiness where having energy available to fight or flight is more important than the health of the cell. Cells can therefore not provide recovery, age faster or are affected by a chronic disease. An example is the intestines. As soon as there is a lot of cortisol in the blood, the pores of the intestines will open wider to absorb all possible energy from the intestinal contents. All this for the priority of having energy available to flee or fight has the disadvantage that substances, fungi and bacteria that cause inflammatory reactions can also pass through the intestinal wall. We call this the leaky gut reaction and this can cause chronic diseases with prolonged stress.

How we can help

We look at the situation personally for each customer. We look at what we can do in terms of nutrition, supplements and exercise. In consultation with you, we can also use the most powerful remedy against psychological stress, namely psychedelic therapy. During psychedelic therapy we can effectively work on fears that are hidden in the subconscious. Think of it as meditation, EMDR or hypnotherapy but thousands of times stronger.

Others who preceded you

We have a lot of experience in combating stress, depression and burnout through our holistic approach. We look at every facet of the body to prevent chronic inflammation for a better psychological state. A number of customers have been so helpful in sharing the experience.

Our process

Typically, we operate a schedule with most clients that looks like this:

  1. Report, neurotransmitter test and intake
  2. Advice on nutrition, exercise and supplements based on point 1
  3. Watch a 2-3 week progression from point 2
  4. An individual psychedelic therapy* (Unless a group has additional benefit or preference)
  5. Debriefing of the psychedelic therapy on the same day
  6. After about 1-2 weeks another debriefing

*During psychedelic therapy, in addition to the use of psilocybin, we also use aromatherapy, color therapy, carefully selected music, herbs and stimulating supplements. All this tailored to the customer and the goal.
